Resource: Otterson Article

Conscience, Not Religious Dogma, is the Motivator, by Michael Otterson. From Washingtonpost.com On Faith.

An excerpt:

"Statements are on record from virtually every president of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints back to the mid-19th century. Many of them are wrapped up in the powerful concept of stewardship - that the Lord has given us dominion over the earth, but that we are occupiers rather than possessors and that we will be held accountable for its use."

Michael Otterson has served as director of media relations for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints since 1997.

Thank you so much for creating this blog. I live in Utah and being an LDS environmentalist is not always received well.
I'm currently at BYU, writing a 10 page paper about the environment and the LDS church, and this blog and its links has helped me out a lot.

I am glad that my work has helped you.

After starting this blog I have found many fellow LDS environmentalists. It feels good to have some company, doesn't it?

Be sure to check out the the "LDS Earth Stewardship" link on my blog's side bar.

Check back in and let me know how you paper turns out. Good Luck.

ellen-

Which class are you writing for?

Some profs who might be able to help you find some sources are Dr. Peck and Dr. Woolstenhulme, or Dr. Handley. Then let me know what sources they told you about 'cause I'm trying to find some too. : )
